Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is one of the leading therapeutic interventions for emotional wellbeing difficulties as outlined in the NICE guidelines (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a talking therapy that enables individuals to develop an understanding of their difficulties and experiences whilst enabling them to build skills and strategies to help them feel back in control of their lives.
When we are feeling overwhelmed or low in mood we can adopt unhelpful coping strategies which can become deep routed over time. CBT focuses on breaking this down by looking at how our thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours can maintain difficulties and start to make changes by developing more helpful patterns and strategies.
CBT has been evidenced to be an effective intervention for a number of mental health conditions including:
Generalised Anxiety Disorder
Social Anxiety Disorder
Specific Phobia

Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
Sleep difficulties such as Insomnia
